Ctna. Why Not `Makana ke Aku' HCC/AOS, AM/HOS *Division 1
(C. aurantiaca x Bro. sanguinea)
Original plant. Yellow Why Nots were extremely rare for many years, with only a few closely held varieties. This plant came from Richard Takafugi (Orchid Center) in Waianae, Hawaii. Richard had a fantastic cattleya operation and considered this to be of of his most prized plants. It was the only photograph he had of a cattleya in his office. Awarded by the Hawaiian Orchid Society in 1999 and by the AOS in 2000.
