California Shipping Update

We Appreciate Our California Customers

For many years, customers throughout California have supported Waldor Orchids and shared our passion for growing and collecting orchids. We are incredibly grateful for that support and understand how disappointing it is when favorite plants are temporarily unavailable for shipment.

At this time, we are temporarily unable to ship live orchid plants to California due to current agricultural restrictions and inspection requirements involving interstate plant shipments.

Why This Is Happening

California maintains some of the strictest agricultural regulations in the country in order to help protect local agriculture and natural ecosystems from invasive pests and plant-related issues.

As a grower based in New Jersey, these regulations currently create significant limitations and inspection requirements for live plant shipments entering California. While many customers assume this is a simple shipping issue, the process is much more involved and affects how plants are inspected, processed, and approved for shipment.

Because we care deeply about plant health, customer satisfaction, and regulatory compliance, we made the difficult decision to temporarily suspend live plant shipments to California while we work toward a responsible long-term solution.

We Are Working Toward a Solution

Waldor Orchids is actively working with New Jersey Agriculture and California officials to explore safe, compliant options that may allow us to resume shipping live plants to California in the future.

Our goal is not simply to restart shipping quickly, but to establish a process that is reliable, responsible, and sustainable for both our customers and our plants.

We truly appreciate the patience, kindness, and understanding shown by our California customers during this process.

What Products Are Still Available?

While live orchid plants are temporarily unavailable for California shipment, many other products continue to ship nationwide, including:

• Orchid pots
• Potting media
• Fertilizers and supplements
• Growing accessories
• Orchid supplies and tools

These products remain available for customers in California and throughout the United States.

Limited Bare-Root Offerings

While most live plant shipments to California remain temporarily unavailable, we are offering select bare-root orchid plants  in this week's offers that will qualify for shipment under current regulations and inspection requirements.

These special offerings will be limited and may vary based on plant type, season, availability, and agricultural approval status. As new options become available, they will be announced through our website, email list, and social media channels.

We are hopeful this will allow us to gradually reconnect with many of our California customers while broader long-term solutions continue to be explored.

A Note About Plant Health

At Waldor Orchids, plant quality and health have always been our priority. Since our beginnings in Linwood, New Jersey in 1925, we have focused on growing healthy, collector-quality orchids with care and integrity.

Rather than risking shipment issues, delays, or problems that could negatively affect our customers or plants, we believe it is better to temporarily pause California plant shipments while proper solutions are pursued.

Looking Ahead

We remain hopeful that a workable path forward can be established in the future. If shipping policies or regulations change, we will provide updates here as soon as possible.

In the meantime, we encourage everyone to continue enjoying and growing orchids, supporting local orchid societies, and staying connected with the orchid community.
